SACRAMENTAL
PREPARATION
This program is
for parents, youth and children involved in the preparation
for the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion and/or Confirmation.
Baptismal preparation
of infant children begins with attendance at a class on Baptism. For times and location of classes check our
information page. To schedule a date for a Baptism, contact the Pastor.
Preparation for
First Reconciliation and First Communion is done in grade 2. Children
in the parish religion program (YES) and in St. Ann School receive preparation
in their religion classes. Parents attend classes approximately once
every two months. Reconciliation is celebrated in the winter and First
Communion in the Spring..
Preparation for
the Sacrament of Confirmation is done in the Spring and is offered to anyone of high school age. The
process emphasizes formation, prayer, worship, and service within the
parish community. Retreats, special liturgies, formation classes, service
projects, parent/sponsor/candidate activities and community building
shape the preparation process.
Special sacramental
classes are offered to children and teens who have missed any of the
Sacraments of Initiation. Children attend Sunday religion classes in
the grade they are in school. In addition, the children gather for catch-up
lessons in basic Catholic teachings and sacraments.
Preparations and arrangements for the
Sacrament of Marriage are made four to six months in advance with the Pastor.
